VMware Administrator Skills and Qualifications
VMware administrators should have advanced proficiency with vSphere, vSAN, and other VMware products and platforms. In general, they must be adept at network engineering, with working knowledge of firewalls, servers, networks, and operating systems
Troubleshooting– it’s important for VMware administrators to be excellent problem-solvers who can determine the main source of product issues and provide quick, elegant solutions
Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technology, especially with VMware's products including Horizon View, vSphere, ESXi
Experience administering and supporting VMware ESX/ESXi infrastructure.
Experience providing technical resolution to the advanced incident and problem events related to the VMware VDI infrastructure. Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following: Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware infrastructure Plan and manages workloads, projects, and other administrative tasks associated with the VMware Server team
Provide subject matter expertise in troubleshooting all issues related to the VMware
Engineers need to build storage systems for information and networks for large enterprises that can cater to thousands of users at the same time. They facilitate the designing of the concept and procedure, besides handling resource allotment.
Engineers maintain the fiber channel switches and SAN arrangements by ensuring that software and firmware are in keeping with the latest needs of an organization
Engineers also set up and maintain documentation of the existing technology and solutions. They help to design the concept and process and handle resource allocation. One of their primary duties is creating data usage and precise performance reports with office applications.
They handle replication of DR data to make sure that data is recovered, in case of any glitches. Engineers configure and administer performance and massive storage arrays while deploying and configuring SANs. They upgrade, implement, monitor policies, and procedures to ensure steady storage provisioning, protection of data, and adherence to compliance.
These engineers resolve storage issues using NFS, Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), and CIFS protocols. They also administer backup architecture using several Full mastery of backup Develop and maintain storage and backup capacity planning strategies and backup monitoring.
Advance skills in designing, implementing, and operating backup solutions with Data Domain, tape, and backup software (NetBackup, VEEAM, BackupExec, etc.)
Updating Servers, Rack, and Storage topology maps with related tools
Upgrade/Update/Patch ESXi , …
Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned
Requirements
University Qualifications: BSc in Computer, IT or related field Significant knowledge and understanding of SAN, Backup, and Storage technologies 5+ years working experience in operation and infrastructure support for the following Product and Technologies: HPE, EMC Storage arrays. Brocade, EMC, and HP SAN Switches NAS Technologies Symantec Veritas Netbackup, BackupExec, Veeam Backup and Replication Experience in the electronic payment industry will be preferred Ideal Age Range: 26 – 35
