Job Description
List of responsibilities:
- Lubricate moving parts such as gears, shafts, and bearings on engines and auxiliary equipment.
- Regularly test equipment for operability and safety
- Monitor working temperatures and pressures on all engine room and associated equipment.
- Check and record lubricating oil level readings – top up as required.
- Assist in monitoring all engine room systems for leaks and report any defects immediately.
- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs on the engine room equipment and machinery as directed.
- Assist with repairs to engines and equipment in engine room and machine shop.
- Maintain the engine room and associated workshop in a clean, tidy and hazard free condition.
- Work with the rig’s boilers.
- Order tools and replacement parts.
- Comply with Company’s Drilling procedures for management of risk and Safe Behavior Program; ensuring that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out for all work activities.
- Participate in the STOP system, complete and submit cards after discussions. Monitor and coach crew members to participate in STOP and carry out STOP audits.
- Ensure work site is safe and that all tools used are in a satisfactory condition.
- Ensure that storage, handling and use of chemicals are done in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure equipment is secured to prevent movement due to wind or rig motion.
- Ensure familiar with correct use, type and location of all Oil Spill Equipment.
- Comply with Company’s Drilling’s waste segregation policy..
- Reporting to: Chief mechanic.
- Working hours: at least 12 hours per day, rotationally (14* 14)(28* 28).
- Travel requirements: at least once a month.
Requirements
- University Qualifications: at least associated diploma . - Other certifications obtained: Bosiet-Huet. - Nature and length of previous experience: 3 years of related experience. - Soft Skills and Personality traits: team work, adaptability, working far from family, work in tough weather condition.
