Job Description
List of responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain all vital machinery aboard the rig, including topside machinery involved in drilling operations.
- Safely maintain topside main diesel engines, pumps, valves, HVAC-R equipment, Rig Air system and the rig Fuel system to ensure uninterrupted drilling operations.
- Record and retain physical records of all work performed on the rig, including the efficient documentation of records.
- Cross-collaborate with various departments aboard the rig to ensure all necessary drilling equipment functions properly.
- Efficiently maintain an evolving record of all chemicals necessary aboard the rig while ensuring chemicals are stored in proper locations based upon Material Safety Data Sheets
- Professionally operate in harsh conditions while ensuring projects are completed on time and exceed company expectations.
- Supervise the maintenance and repair of mechanical components of drilling equipment, marine equipment, and general rig equipment.
- Perform daily visual inspections of equipment and prevent/rectify actual and potential malfunctions, and report potentially dangerous conditions to the Supervisor.
- Inform Maintenance supervisor and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that may affect the safe operation of the rig.
- Ensure that operations are planned, organized, supervised and executed in accordance with well programs, rig move plans, Pacific Drilling requirements and contractual obligations.
- Comply with Company’s Drilling procedures for management of risk and Safe Behavior Program; ensuring that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out for all work activities.
- Participate in the STOP system, complete and submit cards after discussions. Monitor and coach crew to participate in STOP and carry out STOP audits.
- Ensure work site is safe and that all tools used are in a satisfactory condition
- Ensure that storage, handling and use of chemicals are done in accordance with procedures.
- Ensure equipment is secured to prevent movement due to wind or rig motion
- Ensure familiar with correct use, type and location of all Oil Spill Equipment.
- Comply with Company’s Drilling waste segregation policy.".
- Reporting to: Oim-pm manager.
- Working hours: at least 12 hours per day, rotationally (14* 14)(28* 28).
- Travel requirements: at least once a month.
